General Notes: Husband - Hiram App

---

He engaged in farming until 1896, when he sold his farm and moved to Selins Grove, PA, into the old App home­stead erected by his grandfather in 1816. He assisted in permanently establishing the Missionary Institute by liberal contributions of money, time and labor; and, after the death of his father, was elected a mem­ber of the board of directors, for a number of years serving as president of the board.
