General Notes: Husband - Francis S. App

He attended the public schools until he was sixteen years of age, when he began regular work on the homestead, and remained there until he was thirty-four years old. He then went to Union County, Pennsylvania, and rented a farm, which he cultivated for twelve years. After this he returned to Dauphin County and took a farm of one hundred and four acres in Mifflin township, where he then engaged in farming and stock raising.
He was a Republican and served as school director two terms and he took an active part in political matters. In religious his views he was a Lutheran.
