General Notes: Husband - James Steel
Since boyhood his life was lived on a farm. He resided on his father's farm until he was about thirty-five years of age. He then removed to his own farm about a mile from Delmont, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, which he brought to a high state of cultivation. Politically he was a Republican. He was assessor of Salem township in 1906, and for some years was school director of the borough of New Salem. He and his wife were members of Delmont Presbyterian church.
