General Notes: Husband - John Jacob Anthony
He had limited educational advantages, but he had more than the average amount of practical experience in his younger days. He worked on the farm with his father until the latter's death, and he later owned a 138-acre farm in Armstrong township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, where he lived and carried on general agricultural pursuits. At one time he ran a sawmill, and he later owned a half interest in one. He also owned a threshing outfit, and was engaged in threshing during the season, combining these various lines very profitably with farming. Mr. Anthony was long a chicken fancier and made a specialty of poultry and eggs for his market products. He often had over six hundred chickens, principally White Leghorns.
He was a Republican in political matters, and he and his wife were members of the Presbyterian Church.
