He was born in County Antrim, Ireland, and came to America in 1734, settling eleven years thereafter on a creek that became known as Herron's branch, in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. He was a farmer by occupation.

He died in 1755. [ECBP, 258] Seems unlikely.
