General Notes: Husband - John R. Robinson


He was educated at the public school and the academy. He clerked for several years, and from 1858 to 1862 was engaged in the general store business in company with his father. In 1878, he located on the "Reddick farm," Butler County, Pennsylvania, and was in the grocery business for nine months. In January, 1879, he returned to Saltsburg, and opened a hat, cap, boot and shoe, and furnishing store, at Nos. 25½ and 27 White street.

He and his wife resided in Saltsburg, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He was engaged in the mercantile business, in the gents' furnishing goods and boots and shoes.

Civil War: served in company D, 135th Pa. vols., for about nine months.
He enlisted in the United State service, 135th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, August 1, 1862. He was detailed as clerk for colonel till November 2d, and then was detailed as clerk of provost marshal's office till February 15, 1863. He next was detailed as clerk 1st Brigade, 3d Division, 1st drum corps, and was detailed till his time expired.
