General Notes: Husband - William Work

---

He was born in Ligonier Valley, in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and was brought by his parents to what is now East Mahoning township, Indiana County, in early childhood. He received a thorough common school training under his father's tuition, and began to follow farming in his boyhood, continuing that calling all his life. He owned a farm near Little Mahoning creek, near what is now Richmond, and spent the rest of his days there, successfully engaged in general agricultural pursuits and stock raising. [HIC 1913, 980]
