General Notes: Husband - James R. Hamilton


He was born in Peters township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and received a classical education. During his earlier years he followed the profession of school teaching.
He married and, having managed to save a small amount of his salary, bought a little farm in Nottingham township, Washington County, upon which he and his bride began their wedded life. By the time of his death he owned 300 acres of land.
