General Notes: Husband - John Gutelius
He grew to manhood in Mifflinburg, Union County, Pennsylvania. He married and after residing for a time in Millheim, he located in his native city. By trade he was a millwright, but for eleven years he assisted his brother Jacob in the wagon and carriage-making business, and in 1875 he opened a shop of his own, in which he manufactured carriages, sleighs, wagons and all kinds of light vehicles. He built up an extensive trade and employed twenty-five hands, most of his stock being sold in Pennsylvania. Beginning in 1881 his son, D. F. Gutelius, was in partnership with him.
