General Notes: Husband - Peter Heckman

He settled in Gregg township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, in 1797.

He was a native of Berks County, Pennsylvania, where he spent his boyhood days in the occupation of farming, but after his marriage he and his wife removed to Penn's Valley, Centre County, where he purchased a farm of 240 acres near Spring Mills, which he continued to cultivate and improve until called to the world beyond. He was a Jacksonian Democrat in politics, and was honored with several township offices.

One of his daughters was Mrs. Kinsell, and one daughter married in the
West.
