Canal Twp, Venango Co, PA
He came to Venango county, PA, in 1847. In 1859 he and his wife settled in Canal township, and in two years afterward he purchased land and followed farming as his vocation. They had a fam­ily of four sons. He was a cabinet maker by trade and followed that as his vocation previous to his settlement in Canal town­ship.
