General Notes: Husband - Edward L. Oesterling
He completed his education in the district schools in Summit Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and when nineteen years of age left the farm and went to Butler to learn the carpenter's trade. He entered the plant of George Schenck and continued with him many years, for more than fourteen years being his foreman. Mr. Oesterling was a master carpenter and had under his control a large force of skilled workers. He was interested to some degree in other business enterprises.
He completed his schooling in the district schools of Summit Township and Witherspoon Institute at Butler, and when nineteen years of age left the farm and went to Butler to learn the carpenter's trade. He entered the plant of George Schenck, builder of Butler, and continued in his employ until 1908, when he became interested in the contracting and building business at Zelienople. He built many of the city's finest homes.
He was a Democrat, a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and was active in the Rotary Club of Zelienople. He had various business interests and was vice president of the Fowler Lumber Company, of Mars, Pennsylvania, and a director of the Peoples National Bank, Zelienople.
