General Notes: Husband - John Griggs
He was of Welsh origin. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War, taking part in the battle of Bunker Hill, and in the retreat after that battle carried Benjamin Chamberlain, a wounded soldier, three quarters of a mile to safety. The exertion affected him so seriously that he was never afterward a well man. [CAB, 442]
