General Notes: Husband - Edgar Cowan Griffith


He was ten years of age when his parents moved to Adamsburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He was graduated in the public schools, and until eighteen years of age worked at farming. He then taught school for a time, after which he spent several years in the West. He returned to Greensburg, Pennsylvania, in 1890, and spent four years in the real estate and insurance business with the firm of Gay, Bair & Lane. In 1894 he opened a real estate and insurance office in Jeannette, Westmoreland County, which he conducted five years. In 1899 he located in Greensburg, where he then was engaged in the real estate and insurance business. He was a Democrat in politics, and a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Besides the two children listed, he and his wife had two other children who died in infancy.
