General Notes: Husband - Benjamin Griffey

He was a railroad contractor, bridge builder and miller. He at one time part owned and operated the largest woolen-mills in Pennsylvania, the machinery in the same costing $110,000; the plant was destroyed by fire. He built the high bridge at Sandy Hook, Connecticut, and a number of others. Both he and his wife were members of the Washington Presbyterian Church, and in politics he was a Republican.
