General Notes: Husband - Dr. Abraham Hazeltine
He received his degree of M. D. from Dartmouth College in 1820, and about a year later came to Warren, Pennsylvania, where he opened an office as the first regular allopathic physician of that town.
He was born at Wardsboro, Vermont, and received his earliest education in the schools of his native place, afterward attending Brattleboro Academy. He studied for the medical profession in Dartmouth College, and in 1820 removed to Warren, Pennsylvania, being the first regular practitioner in that place. He remained there, practicing very successfully, until 1840, when he removed to Busti, Chautauqua County, New York, in order to care for his mother in her declining years, on the Hazeltine homestead on Stillwater creek. He was always very active in public affairs, and was elected president of the first projected railroad that was organized in the early days of the history of Warren. He was also the first treasurer of the Warren school district. He was originally identified with the Congregationalists, but later became a member of the Presbyterian church. [GPHAV, 564]
