Beaver, Beaver Co, PA - a lawyer

He was a prominent attorney of Beaver County, Pennsylvania, and owned a number of farms in different sections. He died two months before the birth of his son, Joseph H. With her infant the widow of David Hayes took up her residence on a farm adjoining the one later owned by Willis C. Hayes.

He bought a farm in North Beaver Township, Beaver (later Lawrence) County, Pennsylvania, which adjoined the one on which his grandson, James Hayes, later lived, owning both farms, but Mr. Hayes never moved onto the place, dying before he had completed his arrangements to do so. His widow and children settled on the farm and she passed the remainder of her life here.
