General Notes: Husband - James H. Green

Glen Hope, Clearfield Co, PA

He became a large land owner and a prominent lumberman. He bought the logs and paid for the cutting of them and with his brother-in-law, Abraham Beyers, made the first drive of logs down Clearfield Creek. The value of these logs was about $16,000, and they were destroyed in what was called the Buckshot war, which was a local trouble between the lumbermen and the raftsmen. Mr. Green died soon after this misfortune.
