General Notes: Husband - Matthew Gray

He was an early settler of Union Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania, having come with his family 100 miles on horseback in 1792. They were of Scotch-Irish descent, members of the Presbyterian Church, and their new home, by being made a place of worship for those of that denomination in the neighborhood, became the germ of the Presbyterian Church in Union City.
