General Notes: Husband - John Shoff

He was born in Clinton County, Pennsylvania, and came with his parents to Clearfield County. After his marriage he purchased eighty-seven acres of timber land near Hegarty's Cross Roads, built a little log cabin and barn, and began the develop-ment of his land. In 1841 he replaced the first home by a large two-story frame residence, a few years after building an extensive barn and making other substantial improvements. In 1859 he purchased 120 acres adjoining the home place, and developed one of the finest farms of the com-munity.

She was born in Blair County, Pennsylvania, and when seven years of age came across the mount-ains with her family to Clearfield county.
