General Notes: Husband - S. J. McManigle

He received his education in the country schools, enjoying very fair advantages for the times. Practically all his life he was interested in farming, having come to his home place in Rose township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, about 1874. Twenty-five acres of the place were underlaid with coal veins of good producing capacity.
He filled the office of school director (for one term) and supervisor (four years). He was a member of the M. E. Church. Politically he supported the Republican party.
