General Notes: Husband - John Herbert Harper

---

He received a common school educa­tion, and clerked in his father's store at North Washington for several years. He was afterwards in business at that point as a member of the firm of Harper Brothers. In 1886 he came to Butler and opened a general store. He was a member of the United Presbyterian church, in politics, a Republican, and served in the borough council. He was connected with Ziegler Lodge, I. O. O. F., and the K. of P.
