General Notes: Husband - Robert M. Anderson
He followed farming after he completed his school attendance, and he remained on the home farm until after his marriage. In 1878 he purchased his own property in Penn Township, Butler County, PA, and carried on general farming and derives a good income, also, from his oil wells. In 1862, he enlisted for service in the Civil War, and was in the army for nine months as a member of Company F, One Hundred Thirty-seventh Regiment, Penna. Volunteer Infantry, and was a member of Reed Post, G. A. R., at Butler. In politics he was a Democrat, as was his father before him, and he served in a number of offices in the township, including school director, Overseer of the Poor and as justice of the peace.
