General Notes: Husband - Martin Graffius
He attended subscription schools of the day, but primitive as his surroundings were, he learned to read and write well. He was a farmer and distiller; owned and cultivated over 200 acres in what is now Henderson township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, and was also a stock raiser. He built himself a house and a barn. He was a Whig; he cast his first presidential vote for Thomas Jefferson. He was in the army during the War of 1812.
He attended the Presbyterian church.
