General Notes: Husband - Alexander H. Huston
He served as a soldier in the Civil War as a member of the Tenth Pennsylvania Reserves.
He was born in Chartiers township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, where he was reared, educated and taught the carpenter's trade, at which he thereafter worked. In 1862 he enlisted, along with his brother William, in Company D, Tenth Regiment, P. V. I., and was sent to the army of the Potomac; he was wounded in the battle of Gettysburg, where his brother was killed.
