He was born on the old Frazier homestead in Muddy Creek Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and spent his entire life in Butler County. He remained on the farm until 1916, when he retired and removed to Butler. He was a Democrat and served as assessor and school director. He held membership in the United Presbyterian Church.
