General Notes: Husband - Francis Alfred Hare, M.D.

He attended Washington and Jefferson College and the University of Pennsylvania. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and practiced medicine in Washington, Pennsylvania.

Reared in Wheeling, West Virginia, he was graduated from the high school there in 1911, when eighteen years of age, and presently entered Washington and Jefferson College, from which he was graduated (A. B.) in 1915. Early having determined upon a professional career and adopted medicine as his field of practice and endeavor, he entered the Medical School of the University of Pennsylvania upon leaving college and was there pursuing his studies in medicine when this country took a hand in the World war in the spring of 1917. Enlisting his services in behalf of the Medical Corps of the army, he was assigned to duty at Camp Meade, attached to the medical staff of the Three Hundred and Fourth Engineers, Seventy-ninth Division, and was there in service when the war came to an end. Upon the completion of his military service he resumed his medical studies at the University of Pennsylvania and in 1919 was graduated (M. D.) from that institution.
Upon receiving his diploma Dr. Hare was appointed to an interneship in the West Pennsylvania Hospital at Pittsburgh and was thus attached for a year, at the end of which time he engaged in practice in Washington, Pennsylvania, in association with Dr. William E. Hart, a connection that was maintained until the autumn of 1921, after which time Dr. Hare was practicing independently, with offices in the Washington Trust building and residence at No. 133 Penn street. The Doctor was a member of the staff of the Washington Hospital, obstetrician, and was also connected in a similar capacity with the State Prenatal Clinic there. He was a member of the Washington County Medical Society and the Pennsylvania State Medical Association. He also belonged to Kappa Sigma college fraternity, and Alpha Kappa Kappa medical fraternity.
