He attended the Glade Run Academy for several terms, and in the spring of 1887 went out to Nebraska, where he taught school several years. Later he engaged in farming near Gothenburg, Nebraska, in 1895 selling his property there and purchasing another tract farther west, at Basin, Wyoming.
