General Notes: Husband - Alexander Hammond


He settled in Harrison County, Ohio, in 1809; in 1812 he located in Short Creek township, subsequently removing to Harrisville. He was a member of the Seceder Church, and his house was a station on the "underground railroad," many slaves having been given shelter in his home before being taken to Canada.
