General Notes: Husband - Robert Kelly
He succeeded his father in possession of the old family homestead.
He was a farmer, and dealt in stock and general merchandise. He was a pioneer in the salt manufacturing business, which was a thriving industry in the Conemaugh valley at the time and gave Saltsburg its name. He sank a number of salt wells and was engaged in this business until his death. He was a private in the War of 1812, and his widow drew a pension and received a grant of land from the United States government on account of these services.
General Notes: Wife - Rachel Glasgow
She was born in 1779. [HIC 1880, 432]
Her parents were natives of Scotland and resided on what is now (1906) the Dennis Porter farm at Cunningham's bridge, in Lower Tyrone township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, where she was born. She was a devout Christian, a charter member of Kelly Station (Tunnelton) Baptist church, and a liberal supporter of the same until her death.
