General Notes: Husband - Gideon Gilpin
He was an innkeeper in Birmingham, Chester County, Pennsylvania, near Chadds Ford, his house being headquarters of Lafayette, just before the battle of Brandywine. The Marquis, when visiting the scene in 1825, found Gideon on his death bed and greeted him affectionately.
