Upon arriving in America, he located with his family in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, and together with members of the Watson family, made his home at the present site of the village of Watsontown, named in honor of the Watson family. The Watsons and Breckenridges subsequently intermarried, migrating to western Pennsylvania, and settling in Vernon township, Crawford County, whence Watson Run also received its name.
