General Notes: Husband - William Thompson, Jr.
He was born in Middlesex township, Butler County, Pennsylvania. He was reared on the homestead farm, and learned the shoemaker's trade, which he followed in connection with agriculture. He purchased a farm, later the homestead of Mrs. Collins, September 15, 1846, and resided on it down to his death. He and his wife were members of the Presbyterian church, in which body he filled the office of trustee. In early life he was a Whig, and afterwards a Republican. He spent eighty-six years within the boundaries of Butler County, and endured all the privations and trials incident to pioneer life.
