General Notes: Wife - Sarah Proudfit

She spent the first years of her married life at the little village of Five Corners, in the town of Peoria, Genesee County, New York. In May, 1839, she removed to Hillsdale County, Michigan. The family made their home for a time in the town of Moscow, but afterward settled in Mosherville. In this village the remainder of her life was spent.
She was a quiet, unaggressive woman, whose life exemplified the religious precepts in which she was instructed in her youth. She spent herself without stint in the service of her family until attacked by the short illness from which she died, January 6, 1865.
