He enlisted for service in the Civil War June 16, 1865; he was with Sherman's army during the last year of the war, and was discharged at the end of the struggle.
He came to Tidioute, Pennsylvania, in 1871, and was commander of the Col. George Cobham Post G. A. R. No-311.
