General Notes: Husband - John Leach Hays

He resided for several years in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, removing to Mt. Jackson [Lawrence or Beaver County] in 1842, where he was engaged in mercantile business. He was postmaster from 1845 for ten years. In 1859 he was commissioned a justice of the peace, which he held until almost the close of his long life.
