He was educated at the public schools of Alliance, Ohio, and graduated from the high school there, later becoming a mechanical engineer. In May, 1895, he came to Pennsylvania and settled in the town of Edgeworth in Allegheny County. Here he followed his profession with eminent success until his untimely death.
