General Notes: Husband - James Huffman, Sr.


His parents came to this country from their native land, Germany, and settled in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He moved to Venango County in 1797, settling on the tract in Clinton Township later occupied by Andrew Hoffman. Being a wagonmaker by trade, he was able to make agricultural implements for the farmers of the vicinity, and himself engaged in farming, making the first improvements upon his home place.
