General Notes: Husband - Rev. Andrew Getty

He was born on the old Getty homestead, Conemaugh township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He became a pastor of the Universalist church. He studied theology for two years with Rev. D. Bacon, of Pittsburgh. He was licensed in the autumn of 1862, and began active work in his chosen field of labor. He organized the Saltsburg church in 1870, with fifteen members, and in the same year the edifice was erected, mainly at his own expense. He had regular services at Allenport, Washington County; Smithton, Westmoreland County, and Falls City, Fayette County, in addition to his home field, and attending other points as a missionary.
