Nickleville is at the intersection of the Rockland and old Franklin roads, the latter the earliest road opened through this section, while another road leads to Richland Church. It was laid out by William Nickle, Jr., son of the pioneer of that name. He opened the first store there, was the first postmaster, and served many years as justice of the peace. [CAB, 345]
