MAN SLITS THROAT, DIES
Harry Lusher, Aged 50, Commits Suicide at Home of His Sister In Rouseville at 1:30 O'clock Wednesday Afternoon.
HAD SUFFERED BREAKDOWN
Harry Lusher, aged 50, a resident of West Hickory, committed suicide at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the home of his sister, Mrs. Margaret Noel, at Rouseville, by cutting his throat with a razor.
Mr. Lusher, with his wife, came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Noel last Friday night after having been suffering from a nervous breakdown for a long time. He had been working in a tannery at West Hickory.
Yesterday the Lushers went to Meadville, where Mr. Lusher consulted a physician. It is stated that there was nothing in what the doctor told him sufficiently discouraging to account for the tragedy.
Died Almost Instantly
Mr. Lusher returned at noon today to the home of his sister and early this afternoon asked for a razor with which to shave himself. His brother-in-law provided him with one and was getting soap and water for him when Lusher remarked that he was going to cut his throat.
Mr. Noel tried to prevent him, but was not quick enough. Mr. Lusher died almost immediately.
The deceased was born in Blair county, but for most of his life had been a resident of East Hickory until three years ago, when he removed to West Hickory. Besides his widow he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mrytle Shriver, of Oil City; Mrs. John Van Camp, of Buffalo; Mrs. Lizzie Noble, of Erie; Mrs. S. B. Becket, of Endeavor; Mrs. Margaret Noel, of Rouseville; A. W. Lusher, of Akron, O.; J. W. Lusher, of Chanute, Kan.; and S. H. Lusher, of Tionesta.
Deputy Coroner Wade Osenider was called and decided that no inquest would be necessary. The body was taken to the Osenider establishment and prepared for burial.

Harry Lusher Commits Suicide
Slashing his throat with a razor, Harry Lusher, 50 years old, died almost instantly at the home of his sister, Mrs. Margaret Noel, of Rouseville, about 1:30 o'clock last Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Lusher was a resident of West Hickory, but he, with Mrs. Lusher, had gone to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Noel last Monday morning. He had been suffering from a nervous breakdown for a long time previous.
Mr. and Mrs. Lusher went to Meadville to consult a physician on Tuesday but nothing in the doctor's statement could be taken to be discouraging in a way to cause the tragedy. Mr. Lusher returned Wednesday noon to Rouseville and early in the afternoon asked for a razor to shave himself. His brother-in-law, Myron Noel, gave him a razor and was getting soap and water for him when Mr. Lusher stated that he was about to cut his throat.
Mr. Noel tried to get to his brother-in-law before he could carry out his statement but was not in time. Mr. Lusher slashed his throat and cutting the jugular vein. Death occurred in about a half hour.
Mr. Lusher was a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Lusher, deceased, and was born in Glenhope, Clearfield county, but had lived for the most of his life in East Hickory until three years ago, when he removed to West Hickory, where he was employed in the tannery. His home life was always happy and congenial and he was devoted to his wife, who was formerly Miss Edith Anderson.
Besides his widow he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Myrtle Shriver, of Oil City; Mrs. John VanCamp, of Buffalo; Mrs. Lizzie Noble, of Erie; Mrs. S. B. Becket, of Endeavor; Mrs. Margaret Noel, of Rouseville; A. W. Lusher, of Akron, O.; J. W. Lusher, of Chanute, Kans.; and S. H. Lusher, of Tionesta.
Funeral services in his memory were held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock in the West Hickory M. E. church, of which he was a member, the pastor, Rev. S. E. McKinley, officiating. Interment was made in the East Hickory cemetery. The funeral was largely attended, about forty relatives and all the brothers and sisters but two being in attendance.
