General Notes: Husband - George Garfield Griffin

He was educated at Osceola High School and always lived in Clarke County, IA, except for two years (1909-11) spent in Texas. He was manager of Griffin Brothers Silo Packer Co. at Osceola. He was a member of the Methodist Church and active in its work, serving on its board of trustees and teacher of the men's Bible class; he was also a member of the Osceola Fire Department and was killed while on duty at a large fire in a business block, as a result of being crushed by a falling brick wall.

After the death of her husband, she kept her family of seven children, ranging in ages from one to fourteen years, together and saw each graduate from the Osceola High School.
