General Notes: Husband - James C. Gault

He was born in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, where he was reared on the family homestead and educated in the public schools. He remained at home on the farm until July, 1889, when he entered the sheet mill, beginning at the bottom and working his way up to the position of heater, to which he was promoted in 1899. In 1902 he came to Westmoreland County, having purchased a farm two miles and a half west of Scottdale, on which he then made his home. The estate consisted of fifty-six acres of productive land on which were erected good buildings. Mr. Gault superintended this property in connection with his work at the mill, cultivating it as a general farm. He was secretary of the official board of the Presbyterian church, of which he and his wife were members.
