He came to the United States when a young man and was the owner of a stove foundry on Pennsylvania avenue, Allegheny, Pennsylvania, in which city they lived. Elizabeth Sorg had come to that locality with a party of relatives and both before and after her marriage lived in Allegheny City, Pennsylvania.
