General Notes: Husband - Daniel F. McCrea
He was an oil operator of Pennsylvania and California; later he was proprietor of the Hotel Butler at Butler, Pennsylvania.
He was reared on his father's farm and when he was released from school he obeyed the lure to the oil fields, which, at that time, attracted young men from all surrounding sections. Mr. McCrea was fortunate in his investments and was identified with oil production thereafter. He operated in many of the most productive oil regions of the country, from 1883 to 1885, being interested in the Los Angeles oil fields in California.
He was a stockholder and a director in the Butler County Fair Association.
In politics he was a Democrat.
He was closely associated with the hotel business for years as the genial proprietor of the Butler Hotel, and was a member of the Pennsylvania State Hotel Association, was president of the Butler County Hotel Men's Association, and belonged also to the Elks.
