General Notes: Husband - John A. Johnson
He attended school in Greenwood township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, and afterward went to lumbering and still later engaged in mining. After he married he lived first at Grampian and then came to a farm in Pike township, which was known as the Richard Freeman farm, originally belonging to the grandfather of Mrs. Johnson. There was no open coal bank on the place and all the land was under cultivation except about forty acres still in valuable timber.
He was a member of the Sons of America and of the Order of the Moose, at Curwensville. He was an independent Democrat in his political views and while living in Penn township served on the election board and was a school director for some years in Pike township.
