General Notes: Husband - F. A. Sutton
Meadville, PA
When the war of the Rebellion was being waged he was a young man, but offered his services to his country, and fought for the Union. He was a member of the Fifty-second Pennsylvania Regiment. As early as 1860 he became interested in the oil industry in the vicinity of Oil City, and during the following forty years he gave his chief time and attention to that line of business, having additional investments in the oil region of West Virginia. Politically he was affiliated with the Republican party, and socially he was a Knight of Pythias.
