General Notes: Husband - Alexander Grant
He was educated in the common schools and began his business life as a carpenter, which vocation he followed for six years. In 1855 he went to California and there worked at gold mining for eighteen months. He then returned to his farm in Richland township, where he had located in 1849. He served as justice of the peace for nine years and for six years was school director. He and wife were members of the Presbyterian church, and he was a Republican. [HVC 1890, 1114]
He is said to have eleven children, wife of Crupp is not listed, and one who died in infancy is included. [HVC 1890, 1114]
