from Crofort, Scotland ?
He lived for some time in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, building and occupying the first stone house erected at that place. Later he removed to Butler County, and eventually to Armstrong County, where he died not long afterward in 1833. [HVC 1919, 506]
Alexander Grant, a Scotchman, was one of the first settlers of Allegheny Townpship, Butler County, Pennsylvania. He settled the tract thereafter known as the Grant farm. [HBC 1883, 446]
