She attended Graham School, then the new four-year Rocky Grove High School from which she was graduated as valedictorian. Upon graduation from Allegheny College, Meadville, with a bachelor of arts degree in 1922, she made teaching a career--at Hopewell and Corsica, PA, and for 28 years at Hamburg, NY. While living at Hamburg, she completed a special language course in Montreal, Canada, and received a master's degree in education. Upon retirement in 1956, she and her mother returned to live in Pennsylvania. She was a resident of Grandview Nursing Home from 1970 till her death.
